AB1749-PARE IMPACT OF FACIAL SIGNS OF SYSTEMIC SCLEROSIS ON PATIENTS’ SELF-ESTEEM

Background The dimensions of self-concept and body image are essential for assessing the quality life individuals with chronic diseases. Systemic sclerosis (SSc) is characterized by facial involvement that can lead to aesthetic changes, functional disability as well psychological impact. Objectives To assess influence face on self-esteem in SSc patients. Methods A cross- sectional study was carried out patients followed at a rheumatology department. Included completed Burden Face Affected (BoFA) questionnaire Rosenberg scale (RSES). All data collected after patient consent analyzed using SPSS statistical package. Results Forty who fulfilled 2013 ACR/EULAR Classification Criteria Sclerosis were included. There 8 male 32 female sex ratio 4. median age 45 years old [19-71] disease duration 1 year. majority our (85%, n=34) suffered from diffuse form SSc. 15%(n=6) had limited form. Fingertip ulcers observed 13 (32.5%) telangiectasia 16 (40%). Raynaud’s phenomenon found 34 (85%). Severe organ involvements detected interstitial lung 17 (42,5%), pulmonary hypertension 7 (17.5%) renal 2 (5%). Mean (±SD) Rodnan score 19.6 ± 6.2 70% (28 patients) mouth opening.
